location shots

These are our location shots of where we filmed our dance scenes and the wheelchair scenes. The first two pictures are of location shots that we used to film the wheelchair part. The outside location is where we filmed the dance part of our sequence. We took a picture of the tv and the corridor as they were the two main features of the title sequence. The square arc is a significant place in the location as this is where the boys danced for our title sequence.

Thursday 19th January 2012

Today we are shooting the first two shots of our title sequence in an outside location. This will be the dancing scenes. We also will be taking shots of location to establish the whole location. Tomorrow we will be shooting the rest of the sequence at a different location (my house). This will be the part of the sequence that establishes what would happen in the film. Tomorrow's shooting is the most important as we need to make sure we get the correct shots and establish the importance of this part of the title sequence.

music

Today the group had a disscussion about one of the soundtracks that will be featuring in our title sequence and debated that the music and the lyrics of this soundtrack may contradict the title sequence too much. We have decided that once we have filmed and put the sequence into final cut we will try the soundtrack and if it does contradict the images too much then we will change it to a more suitable song.

costumes

These two images are of the dance group that are performing in our title sequences. Not all these students are now avaliable to dance for us but we are using part of the group and are using other students. In both pictures they are wearing two types of costumes which are both possibilities of what they will be wearing on the day of filming. The first image shows the flip which will be roughly the same flip that will be used at the beginning of our title sequence.

x-ray image

This is the picture of the broken spine, that will be featured in part of our title sequence as part of the prologue, to show the audience that the main character (Frankie) has injured himself.

The x ray image above was the original picture we were going to use but after a disscussion with shaun we decide that a real x ray image would be more appropriate and believable for our sequence.

17th January 2012

As a result of not being able to film in their dance studio we have had to change the location but we have sorted out where we are able to film now. This will be a completely different location but will still work depending on the weather. We will be filming this on Thursday 19th January 2012.

song for title sequence

This will be the main song for our title sequence and the music for the title sequence will begin when the main character 'Frankie' turns on the stereo.

5th January

Today the group decided to make an animatic of our storyboard so that it could give us a brief idea of what our title sequence may look like. We also created a google calender so that we can be more organised with our filming and editing etc. Our decision was to film the dance section on Friday as the dancers/actors are avaliable to film. Also the group disscussed the music again because the original soundtrack that was chosen has copyright authorization.

8th December part 2

In Shauns lesson we designed the rest of our storyboard for our title sequence 'Change the Beat'. We started to do some research into the dance group that will be involved in our title sequence. We looked into the type of routine we wanted them to do and the clothes we want them to wear. I wrote a letter to woolwich poly school to ask permission to film in their dance studio as it has correct lighting, nice surroundings and a big enough space for the group to dance.

Typography ideas for our title sequence

We have been looking at different types of typography and have picked three very different types. We will do some audience research and see what typography is the most popular for our title sequence. The reason we have chosen tyre track typogrphy is because it connotates the 'wheelchair' in the title sequence. This will help the audience have an idea of the storyline of the disability.

10th January 2012

Last week the group decided on the soundtrack for the title sequence. The group decided to use 'Big Boss' for the dance part in the seqence and to use 'perfection' for when Frankie is in his wheelchair. These soundtracks are appropriate for 'Change the beat' because they have the vibe and feeling to go with the events of the title sequence.

8th December

On the 8th of December our group designed our storyboard for our title sequence 'Change the beat'. We decided that the main location to film would be at my house but we do have to shoot to other scenes in another location as it is more appropriate for the dancers. We are using my house to film as it has all the props we need to use e.g wheelchair, costumes, correct surroundings and enough space to shoot our scenes.
The music in our sequence begins when the main character 'Frankie' turns the stereo on.
